A number of trollies are being constructed for use in our tobacco tunnels being delivered throughout Southern Africa.

ROC owns a DAF/Ing. Bonfiglioli for use on client installations. It provides a versatile means of transporting and assembling components for tobacco tunnels.

Prefabrication and final assembly of various manufactured components for the tobacco tunnels takes place within this workshop shed.

These stacks of tobacco trolley components are fabricated and then left in a collapsed state. These parts are then transported to site and welded by our team on-site.

We have designed an ingenious heat exchanger system which has a reversible hot-end (to combat ageing) and provides super-efficient heat transfer.

With each Ecotunnel System, we supply two 6m steel decked two-wheel trailers which have a low centre of gravity that can carry two trolleys at a time.

To allow for the odd holiday during the reaping period, the ROC Systems Ecotunnel features a Sunday Holding Bay where reaped tobacco can be held in a buffer system.

Coal is used to fire the stoker which heats up the heat exchanger and in turn provides the hot air for using in curing the leaves loaded on trolleys in the tobacco tunnel.

The green tobacco slowly turns to a rich yellow colour in the tobacco curing process.

From the tobacco tunnel, the cured product is moved to the tobacco grading shed where it is sorted and packed, ready to be sold.
